Website & service notices
Terms & Conditions.
Effective November 1, 2026
1. About this website and these terms
Brown Notary provides information about mobile notary services based in Marshall, Missouri. These terms address this website and appointment inquiries. A request, email draft, search result, map, or displayed time is not an accepted booking, legal opinion, or guarantee of service. Any separately agreed written service terms apply to the appointment; applicable law controls in all cases. Merely visiting this site does not waive statutory rights or by itself create a paid service contract.
2. Missouri service area and lawful notarizations
Appointments offered through this website are in-person visits within Missouri, subject to the notary’s lawful authority, availability, and agreed travel area. The website may be viewed from other states, but viewing it does not offer an out-of-state or remote online notarization. Documents intended for use elsewhere may have additional requirements; ask the receiving organization or your attorney before the visit. No assurance is made that a document or notarization will be accepted by a court, agency, lender, or other recipient.
3. No legal, financial, or tax advice
Brown Notary is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, select legal documents or a notarial act for you, draft legal language, or advise on the legal effect of signing. General website explanations do not create an attorney-client or other professional advisory relationship. A notarization does not establish the truth, legality, accuracy, or enforceability of a document’s contents. Obtain advice from a qualified professional when needed.
4. Requests, confirmation, and communications
Choose a preferred service, date, time, and location and provide accurate contact details. Availability and any travel fee must be confirmed personally. The current public website prepares an email draft; you must send it using your email application. Opening or copying a draft does not deliver it. Do not rely on this website for emergencies, last-minute filing deadlines, or guaranteed arrival times. Optional SMS or WhatsApp preferences are separate from requesting service and do not authorize marketing; automated messaging is not currently connected.
5. Your preparation and signer responsibilities
Have the complete document, acceptable identification, every required signer, and any required witnesses available. Confirm document and recipient requirements beforehand. Do not pre-sign if the act requires signing before the notary. Signers must be able to communicate their willingness and meet applicable identification and other legal requirements. Do not submit identification numbers, financial account details, medical information, or document copies through the appointment form. Tell us about access or accommodation needs when arranging the visit without disclosing unnecessary sensitive details.
6. Lawful refusal, access, and rescheduling
The notary must follow applicable law and may decline or stop an act when legal requirements are not met, including identification, personal appearance, willingness, awareness, conflicts, or suspected unlawful activity. Service is subject to safe access and facility rules. Weather, illness, road conditions, and facility restrictions may require a schedule change. We will discuss alternatives when practical. Nothing in these terms authorizes unlawful discrimination or removes a notary’s legal duties.
7. Fees, travel, cancellation, and refunds
Notarial fees are subject to Missouri law. Any travel fee must be explained as separate from the notarial fee, neither specified nor mandated by Missouri notary law, and agreed before travel. Printing, courier, witness coordination, or other separately requested services require an agreed scope and price. A website estimate is not a final quote. No blanket cancellation, no-show, or nonrefundable deposit charge is imposed by these website terms. Any applicable cancellation or refund arrangement must be disclosed and agreed separately, comply with law, and cannot override mandatory refund rights. Contact us promptly to cancel, reschedule, or question a charge. This website does not collect card information or process payments.
8. Acceptable website use and security
Use the website lawfully. Do not impersonate another person, submit fraudulent requests, send malicious code, disrupt service, scrape personal information, or attempt unauthorized access. Do not use appointment forms for unsolicited advertising. We may restrict abusive technical access when lawful without limiting legitimate complaints or statutory rights. We use reasonable care, but no website, email system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed secure or continuously available. Report suspected website misuse to the contact below; do not send passwords or sensitive documents.
9. Third-party services and external links
The site is hosted by GoDaddy and includes an OpenStreetMap service-area map. Your browser may communicate with those providers, and your email application uses your email provider. Their availability, content, and privacy practices are outside Brown Notary’s direct control. Links are provided for convenience and are not a guarantee or endorsement of every statement on another site. The map is an area overview, not live location tracking, a route calculation, or an arrival-time promise. See the Privacy & Cookies Notice for the current delivery and monitoring details.
10. Copyright and permitted use
© 2026 Brown Notary. All rights reserved in original material owned by Brown Notary. You may view, print, or save reasonable portions for personal use in considering or arranging service. Other copying, redistribution, modification, commercial reuse, or use of branding requires permission from the applicable rights holder, except where permitted by law. Third-party icons, maps, fonts, recordings, and other licensed materials remain subject to their respective rights and licenses; this notice does not claim ownership of them. Nothing restricts fair use, lawful criticism, or other rights provided by law. To report an ownership concern, identify the material, its location, your claimed rights, and your contact information using the email below. This contact is not represented as a registered DMCA agent.
11. Website information and limitations of liability
To the extent permitted by law, general website information and online tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, perfect accuracy, or fitness for your particular transaction. Please confirm material details directly. To the extent permitted by law, Brown Notary is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused solely by reliance on general website information, website outages, or failures of independent third-party services. These limitations concern website use; they do not excuse negligent performance of a notarial act, fraud, intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, breach of statutory duties, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing waives mandatory consumer, privacy, accessibility, refund, or other legal rights. Where a limitation is prohibited, it does not apply. These terms do not promise immunity from claims and do not replace professional insurance.
12. Governing law and resolving concerns
Missouri law governs these website terms to the extent permitted by applicable law, without displacing mandatory protections that apply to you. Contact Brown Notary first if you wish to discuss a concern, but doing so is not a required step before exercising a legal right or contacting a regulator. These terms do not require arbitration, waive a jury trial or class proceedings, impose an exclusive court location, or shorten a legal filing deadline. The notary’s authority and duties remain governed by applicable notary law.
13. Changes and severability
Updates will show a revised date on this page and apply prospectively as permitted by law. A website revision does not retroactively change an agreed appointment or remove an accrued right. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. No website provision changes a statutory notarial duty.
